A Pe(a)rfect Snack

Share
Here's a simple, easy, and tasty snack. All you need is a pear and some Greek or plain yogurt. I like to add a drop of vanilla extract for some added sweetness without the sugar. But it's super easy to make and has a nice sweet/tart flavor combo going on.

Pear's offer you plenty of fiber, in the form of pectin, which helps in the digestion process to push contents out of the body and also strengthen your intestinal walls (think muscle toning) to build a stronger and more efficient digestive system.
Pear's are also packed with beneficial vitamins and minerals like:

  • Vitamin C which is an excellent antioxidant.
  • Vitamin B2 (aka Riboflavin) which plays a crucial role in skin and muscle health and the production of red blood cells.
  • Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that is fantastic at boosting skin health.
  • Potassium is important in maintaining muscle health and can even be helpful for those with high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Greek yogurt is a great, low-fat source of dairy that also contains a ton of protein, calcium, and probiotics needed in digestive health!

Happy Friday, everyone!
